Public land for public benefit

Finding affordable and secure housing in Sydney is harder than ever. And yet, new developments are too often geared towards developer profits rather than community needs.

None of the 1,200 new units in Blackwattle Bay are set aside for public housing and there is no guarantee that Bays West will contain promised affordable housing. We have an important opportunity to ensure these homes help provide desperately needed housing for our community.

This is why we need public land to be set aside for public housing and a legislated 30% affordable housing mandate for all new developments.

Sign our petition to tell the Minister for Planning that public land should be used for public benefit, not developer greed.
